What a Tayyib certificate covers
Halal certification in Britain is well served for meat and for food. It is barely served at all for the things Muslims hold their wealth in. The IDCC certifies the assets and the contracts: physical gold and silver, digital gold and digital silver held on allocation, car finance, Islamic contracts, and the examination behind each one. Every certification resolves to a Tayyib ID on a public register, and every assay is signed by a named, licensed assayer rather than returned by a database alone.
Gold and silver bullion
Dīnār, Dirham, coins and bars certified against published weights and fineness, hallmarked and laser etched, and resolvable on the register by a single scan.
EXAMINATIONExamination certification
XRF, visual, liquid, scratch, weight and purity. Six tests on every piece, each signed by a licensed assayer of the Muslim Assayers Council.
DIGITAL METALDigital gold and digital silver
Allocated, not pooled, and redeemable in metal from one gram. The council certifies the digital allocation and the register behind it, not the platform that sells it.

Vehicle finance agreements read against Shariah before they are signed, so a buyer can check the contract itself rather than take the dealer’s word for it.

Here’s how the IDCC certifies an asset, a contract or a business.
Initial assessment
The IDCC begins by assessing what is being certified: the asset itself, the contract behind it, or the business and its production processes. Depending on what is in front of us, that includes:
Examination of the asset. For gold and silver, a licensed assayer runs XRF, visual, liquid, scratch, weight and purity tests, and the reading is recorded against the piece rather than against the seller’s claim.
Allocation and title. For digital gold and digital silver, we check that each digital gram is a claim on a specific, segregated, physically held gram, that it is allocated rather than pooled, and that it is redeemable in metal.
Contract review. For car finance, nikāḥ and other Islamic contracts, the terms themselves are read against Shariah, including how profit, risk and ownership are treated.
Production methods. We assess the production methods to ensure they align with Islamic ethics, Shariah principles, and fair labour practices.
Sourcing and supply chain. Our team investigates the sourcing of raw materials and the supply chain to verify ethical and sustainable practices.
Review of ingredients, where a product is consumable. Where the certification covers food or another consumable, IDCC experts examine the ingredients used to ensure they are halal and do not contain any haram (forbidden) substances.
Compliance evaluation
We evaluate your business’s overall compliance with Shariah principles and ethical standards. This involves ensuring that your financial transactions, contracts, and business operations align with Islamic finance and ethics.
